publish date : 2026-03-18
On Friday, March 13, the Department of Foreign Affairs Police and the Department of Special Force jointly invited Brian Sherota, Country Attaché of the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Taipei office, to deliver a keynote address at Central Police University (CPU). Speaking to faculty and students from both departments, his presentation, titled "The Impact of Partnership: HSI Taipei, Central Police University, and the Future of International Law Enforcement Cooperation in Taiwan," emphasized the close collaboration and significant milestones achieved between HSI Taipei and its Taiwanese law enforcement partners, particularly in the areas of financial and narcotics enforcement and combating transnational crime. To further engage with the audience, Mr. Sherota prepared a variety of exquisite HSI memorabilia, which he personally presented to students and faculty during the interactive Q&A session. This gesture, featuring small tokens of law enforcement honor, successfully fostered a closer connection between the U.S. law enforcement official and the future elite of Taiwan’s police force, creating a vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere. The address concluded with Mr. Sherota's announcement that a permanent exhibit dedicated to HSI’s global law enforcement mission will be established at the World Police Museum this May (2026). This exhibit will serve as a lasting symbol of the firm and enduring partnership between the two institutions.
